Does Andrew Jukes Have False Beliefs?
Hi Mike,
I hope this email finds you and Sandi well and blessed in all things.
Brother, the Lord has pressed it on my heart to dig deep and study on the sacrifices offerings in Leviticus. I have been reading your papers on “Is Was and Will Be” and have also been reading Andrew Jukes’ “Law of the Offerings”. Mostly because I heard you mention it in one of your talks. I have already read another paper called “Types in Genesis” by Jukes.
I have been extremely blessed by this study as I am seeing our Lord and His Christ through the types and shadows not only in the offerings, my understanding of all the scriptures has been opened by it.
I do have one concern, and I’m sure you can help me with the answer if my perception here is correct or not. In my reading Andrew Jukes’ papers, there are a few things that bother me. I detect that perhaps he did not believe in God’s total Sovereignty or that Christ spoke to hide the truth, as well as believing in the Trinity. I also noticed that he quoted verses out of books I’ve never heard of. I find this disturbing because he was so clearly blessed with very deep understanding, yet still had false beliefs.
Anyway, I was hoping you could give me your take on this and if I’m wrong about my perception on this matter. I look forward to hearing back from you on this when you have the opportunity.
YBIC,

Good morning A____,
Thank you for this question about the writings of Andrew Jukes. You are right on target in realizing that he has many false doctrines mixed in with the Truth of God’s Words.
I had the very same experience you are describing here. I actually consider Andrew Jukes, in some ways, to be my mentor. It was his writings which inspired me to write the studies on The Law of The Offerings. I have always given Jukes the credit for opening my eyes to the fact that the offerings present Christ to us as our heavenly Father wants us to view Him. On page 55 of Types In Genesis in a footnote, Mr. Jukes mentions that the four horsemen of the Apocalypse must “ride through my life”. It was that statement, along with others in his writings, which inspired me to write Rightly Dividing The Word.
So I, too, was in awe of Andrew Jukes, and I still consider him to be God’s anointed, in the same sense that King Saul was “the Lord’s anointed”. But he was (here is another truth I learned from Jukes) “the Lord’s rejected anointed”, inasmuch as he had not been given to know that Christ was created by His Father.
Rev 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
So yes, I was very disappointed upon reading The Names of God by Jukes, to come to see that he believed in a Trinity. He was even unable to discern that words like these are not inspired of the holy spirit and are not therefore to be counted as scripture:
2Macabees 15:38 And if I have done well, and as is fitting the story, it is that which I desired: but if slenderly and meanly, it is that which I could attain unto.
That is not the inspiration of the holy spirit which “speaks as one having authority, and not as the scribes” such as were the Maccabee brothers.
Mat 7:28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:
Mat 7:29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
The spirit of God will always speak “as one having authority and not as the scribes” because:
2Pe 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
Several years ago I spent 125 dollars to have a man in England send me copies of everything he could find on the writings of Andrew Jukes. This included letters he had written to the churches of those who went out of the church of England with Jukes. In those letters I learned that Jukes did not consider himself to be out of the church. I learned that he believed that the Church of England was the true church of God, and the Catholic Church of Rome was the harlot of Babylon.
Through those letters, dated very late in his life, I learned that Jukes believed, not in an ‘immortal soul’ but in an ‘immortal spirit’ in man. He also believed in and defended all the holidays which were being observed by the church, including Christmas, Easter, and Halloween, which he called All Saints Evening.
I cannot at this moment recall anything concerning whether Jukes believed in God’s total sovereignty. I do know that he was also a believer in two separate administrations of God’s elect. Jukes considered the physical Jews to be God’s physical elect, while Christians who were part of the Church of England were God’s spiritual elect – I am deducing that from his strong defense of the Church of England as God’s true Church on this earth. God had simply blinded Jukes’ spiritual eyes from seeing:
Rom 2:28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
Rom 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
Jukes simply was not given to see that God is not making “twain” of ‘twain’, but is:
Eph 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
Eph 2:16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
So the Lord in you has discerned the voice of a stranger in some of Jukes writings, and for that you are to be commended!
When I first read Juke, I was so taken with all that I learned from him that I had Sandi to spend countless hours typing his writings and posting them on the web site. Later, as I learned of his many false doctrines, I took them all down.
I will no longer share his writings because I cannot imagine Christ saying “Caiaphas is wrong about who I am, but he has some very good writings which I advise you to read.” I acknowledge that Jukes taught me much, just as Paul acknowledged being brought up at the feet of Gamaliel, and just as David acknowledged that King Saul was “the Lord’s anointed’. I cannot imagine Paul saying “Hey, Alexander the coppersmith did me much wrong, and withstood my words, but he has some very good writings which I advise you all to read and study.” Rather, this is how Christ handled people who mixed truth with lies:
Mat 18:15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
Mat 18:16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
Mat 18:17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.
Paul tells us the very same thing over and over, including this admonition:
2Jn 1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
2Jn 1:10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
2Jn 1:11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
In his previous epistle John went so far as to tell us all to “try the spirits” (1Jn 4:1), which is what Matthew 18:15-18, in effect, is telling us. “Abid[ing] not in the doctrine of Christ” is part of the “trespass” we are told to ‘go to [our]… brother… and tell him, between [ourselves] and him alone”. If we “try the spirits”, and if we obey our Lord’s commandments concerning how we are to keep the body of Christ pure of spiritual defilement and in good spiritual health, then this is what we are told is the litmus test for “know[ing] the spirit of Truth and the spirit of error”. This is the litmus test for “knowing [Christ’s] voice” and distinguishing His voice from “the voice of a stranger”. How many people can say with the apostle John?:
1Jn 4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
When we “try the spirits” of Jukes’ doctrines concerning the trinity, the doctrine of who is a Jew and what is the voice of the True Shepherd, then we hear the voice of a stranger, and we will not even bid that spirit God-speed. We will instead “let [that spirit] be unto [us] as a heathen man and a publican”, and we will “flee from him”.
Joh 10:4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
Joh 10:5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
Your brother with you who also “knows [the] voice” of the True Shepherd,
Mike
